Before your visit

A few things people often ask.

Do I need to know which treatment I want?

No. Begin by telling us what has been bothering you. Your practitioner will assess your concerns and explain what may be suitable.

What happens during a TCM consultation?

Your practitioner will ask about your symptoms and general wellbeing. They may also observe your tongue or check your pulse before discussing possible next steps.

Does acupuncture hurt?

People experience acupuncture differently. Your practitioner will explain what to expect and check in with you throughout the session.

Can I come if I am already receiving medical care?

Tell your practitioner about any diagnoses, medicines and care you currently receive. We will tell you when another form of care may be more appropriate.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no single answer for everyone. Your practitioner will discuss a suitable plan after understanding your concerns and how you respond to care.

Our name

Qi Yuan 启元

Awaken your origin.

To begin again, we first understand where we come from. Qi Yuan expresses our belief that wellbeing begins by returning to the fundamentals: balance, movement, energy and the relationship between the whole body. At House of Qi, this is our starting point. Yuan, 元 (Yuán), refers to the origin, foundation and source.
